Joshua Sand | Team Secure the Cure
Joshua's Student Visionaries of the Year Fundraiser
I have signed up to save lives with the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) and am working to raise as much as possible over the next 7 weeks. Every dollar raised counts as one vote for my campaign.
As you know, everyone wins when cancer loses. Thanks to your support, my efforts will help fund therapies and treatments that are saving lives. Over the years, support from people like you has been responsible for the blood cancer advancements that have doubled, tripled, and in some cases quadrupled the survival rate for some blood cancers.
Many LLS-supported therapies not only help blood cancer patients but are also now used to treat patients with rare forms of stomach and skin cancers and are in clinical trials for patients with lung, brain, breast, pancreatic and prostate cancers. And LLS-funded drugs like targeted therapies and immunotherapies are now saving thousands of lives every day.
We really are getting close to our goal of a world without blood cancers!
All donations are greatly appreciated and tax-deductible. They'll not only support LLS research, but patient services, advocacy, public and professional education, and community services as well.
Please visit my website often and tell friends who would also like to donate!
On behalf of blood cancer patients everywhere, thank you for your support! For more information about LLS, please visit www.lls.org
My Why
Student Visionaries of The Year has and will always grasp a part of my life for three key reasons. The first of which; I know it will have an immediate impact. Seventeen years ago my Grandma was diagnosed with CLL (Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia). Through this, she has been putting an impeccable front to an illness that has vastly impacted her life in more ways than I can possibly think of. Secondly, this campaign isn’t my first rodeo. Last Year, I was a part of the Nevada Championship team; Team Mission to Remission, in which we collectively raised over $530,000 placing first in our state and second nationally! Third of all, being a part of Student Visionaries of the Year, is the same as creating a second family. The relationships and bonds formed in these teams surpass those commonly found around the classroom and the working environment. With the bonds that are formed, people like you and I, build national friendships that I couldn’t even begin to fathom.
Joshua's Student Visionaries of the Year Fundraiser
Visionaries look to the future—and see infinite possibility.
They challenge the status quo—and make the impossible possible.
They boldly imagine a better world – and lead the charge to create it.
The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society was built on that same vision - of a better world - one without blood cancers.
I am a visionary; I have a vision for a world without cancer, but I need your help.
This year, I’m proud to be a part of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s (LLS) Student Visionaries of the Year Campaign, working to raise as much as possible for LLS’s mission.
As a global leader in the fight against blood cancer, LLS:
- Funds cutting-edge research leading to breakthroughs in immunotherapy, genomics and personalized medicine that are improving and saving the lives of patients
- Provides free education and support for blood cancer patients and families, including personalized, one-on-one support, assistance with identifying and enrolling in clinical trials, and more.
- Mobilizes thousands of advocates to drive policy changes that accelerate the development of new cancer treatments and break down barriers to care.
Please consider joining this fight by making a donation. All donations are greatly appreciated and tax-deductible. Please visit my website often and tell friends who would also like to donate!
Thanks to your support, my efforts will help ensure this generation is the last to see cancer.
On behalf of blood cancer patients everywhere, thank you!

Yes, we have encountered multiple people in our lives afflicted with some form of these diseases. Improved management, if not the ultimate goal of cures, is a very worthwhile destination.
